University of Maine Student-Athletes,
It is our wish that through your experience as a student-athlete at the University of Maine, you will fulfill your personal, academic and athletic goals. We are interested in seeing you succeed and stand ready to support you so that your college experience is enjoyable and rewarding.
It takes a very special person to make the commitment to participate at the NCAA Division I level while balancing the demands of academics. Your success will depend upon various factors including your ability to balance your responsibilities and dealing with the pressures put upon you. Your ability to meet each of the challenges in your future will determine your success. Our staff is here to help support your growth and development. Utilize our years of experience by visiting us and making the most of the resources available to help reach your goals.
It is our expectation that you will take responsibility for your own behavior in the classroom as we strongly believe that a personal commitment to academic integrity is essential in order for you to succeed as a student-athlete at the University of Maine. If you feel you need assistance, ask for help. There are many, many resources available to help you here, but your effort and attitude will ultimately determine your level of success. Simply maintaining eligibility is not success. Aspire to succeed at the highest possible level. Academic accomplishments, and ultimately, graduation, should always be your top priorities.
We encourage you to always do your best to positively represent you, your family, your team, the Athletic department, and the University of Maine. Become aware of all of the great resources that are here to assist you. We are all here to help and look forward to working with each and every one of you!
Best wishes for a successful academic and athletic year!
