Various student-athlete will be volunteering at the Bangor Homeless Shelter from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. in celebration of National Make A Difference Day. American Heart Association Walkathon...Oct. 24-25
Various student-athlete will be helping to set up the event on the 24th, and then volunteering at the kid zone during the event on the 25th. Trick or Eating...Oct. 31
Black Bear student-athletes will be going "Trick or Eating" on Halloween to collect canned goods for the Crossroads Resource Center in Old Town. Student-athletes took part in the event last year and it was considered a tremendous success. Black Bear Blood Drive...Nov. 22
Various student-athletes will be volunteering in the Memorial Gym Fieldhouse to help run the Black Bear Blood Drive. University of Maine Black Bear student-athletes don't just receive tremendous support...they also return the support to the local community. Various Black Bear student-athletes took part in a parade to celebrate the event. They also participated in field day events with local children in Charleston, Maine. Race For The Cure...Sept. 21
The women's basketball team, men's basketball team, men's ice hockey team, women's ice hockey team, and men's and women's cross country teams ran in the event, which raised funds and awareness for the cure for cancer. Members of the women's ice hockey team were on hand to help clean up the race course following the event.
