Former Black Bears Joanne Palombo-McCallie & Jerry Perkins to be Inducted into Maine Sports Hall of Fame
Former University of Maine women's basketball coach Joanne Palombo-McCallie and football letter winner Jerry Perkins are among the eight members of the 2008 induction class for the Maine Sports Hall of Fame. Gift Leads to UMaine Athletics Field Upgrades A $1 million gift from University of Maine benefactors Phillip H. and Susan K. Morse, through the Boston Red Sox Foundation, will provide the catalyst for a significant upgrade of University of Maine outdoor athletic facility playing surfaces. Super Suppah Raises $33,000 for Athletic Scholarships The fifth annual Super Suppah, held Sunday, Jan. 27 at the Bangor Civic Center, raised $33,000 for student-athlete scholarships through the generosity of nearly 250 people in attendance. |
