There is great progress being made on the Paul J. Mitchell Batting Pavilion at the University of Maine. Construction started on the project during the end of May and is expected to be completed for a dedication ceremony on August 21, 2012.

University of Maine baseball pitcher Stephen Perakslis (Abington, Mass.) has been selected in the 21st round of the 2012 MLB Entry Draft, 644th overall, by the Chicago Cubs. He becomes the second Black Bear drafted in as many days, joining Jeffrey Gibbs (Toronto, Ontario) who was selected in the ninth round, 303rd overall, by the Arizona Diamondbacks yesterday.

Five University of Maine baseball players were honored with post-season recognition on Tuesday morning by the America East Conference.
