Colin Gay Named America East Baseball Player of the Week
CAMBRIDGE, Mass.-- University of Maine junior centerfielder Colin Gay (Franklin, Mass.) was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday, Feb. 18. He led the Black Bears in a four-game season-opening series at Auburn.
Gay hit .444 for the Black Bears with three runs and three RBI. He had four extra base hits, including three doubles and a solo home run. Gay, who started all four games for the Black Bears, finished the weekend with a .778 slugging percentage and a .444 on-base percentage. He was perfect in the field in 14 chances.
Gay and the Black Bears return to action on Thursday, Feb. 21 when they travel to Stetson. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
