ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine baseball standout Scott Heath (Westbrook, Maine) had been named to the West Coast League All-Star Team. Heath is playing this summer for the Bellingham Bells in Bellingham, Washington.
The Bells are atop the West Division standings with a record of 25-7. That mark is the best record in the West Coast League this summer.
Heath is hitting .348 with 25 runs scored and 47 hits. He has four doubles to go along with three home runs. Heath has 26 RBI on the season.
Heath led the Black Bears with a .361 batting average this past spring with 23 runs scored and 29 RBI. He had 14 doubles and tied for the team-lead in home runs with four. He was named to the America East First Team as a designated hitter and the America East Second Team as a first baseman. He earned a spot on the America East All-Tournament Team and also was named to the All-New England first team.
Heath will return to lead the Black Bears for his senior season in the spring of 2015.
