The Black Bears are coming off a heartbreaking 57-54 loss at Holy Cross.
Brown is coming off an 86-71 loss to Central Connecticut State.
Matt Sullivan had 18 points and five rebounds to lead the Bears.
Last season in Providence, Justin Edwards had 17 points, eight rebounds and five assists; Alasdair Fraser had 17 points and eight rebounds and Mike Allison had nine points and 10 rebounds to lead Maine to the 71-58 win where the Black Bears out-rebounded Brown 42-30.
Edwards had 22 points and seven rebounds while Alasdair Fraser scored 12 points for the Black Bears in the win.
The Black Bears return three starters in 2011-12 All-Conference players Mike Allison (All-Defensive), Alasdair Fraser (Third Team) and Justin Edwards (All-Rookie).
Fraser was named to the America East and College Sports Madness Preseason All-Conference First Teams while Edwards (CSM First Team) and Allison (CSM Second Team) also garnered honors.
The Black Bears were picked to finish fifth in America East according to the preseason coaches' poll.
