Men's Basketball Travels to Army
ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball team plays its second of three-consecutive road games at Army on Friday at 7 p.m. The game can be heard on the Black Bear Sports Network.
The University of Maine men's basketball team (3-6) travels to take on the Army Black Knights (4-5) for the first time since the 1969-70 season.
The Black Bears are coming off a 91-59 loss at defending ACC champion Florida State.
Maine was led by Justin Edwards who had 19 points, 12 rebounds and five assists; the 12 rebounds gave Edwards 209 for his career.
Mike Allison had nine points, 11 rebounds and four blocks against the Seminoles; the four blocks for Allison gave him 102 for his career at Maine and puts him sixth all-time in program history.
Army is coming off a 69-67 loss at NJIT.
Ella Ellis had 16 points and five rebounds to lead the Black Knights.
Maine last played a Patriot League member earlier this season, falling to Holy Cross 57-54.
Alasdair Fraser had a huge game against the Crusaders, scoring 21 points and grabbing 15 rebounds.
Fraser has grabbed at least eight rebounds in eight out of nine games this season
Edwards is averaging 19 points per game through the last seven games and has 17 assists in his last three games while shooting 60.7 percent in his last five contests.
Xavier Pollard needs one rebound for 100 in his career.
