Storylines

The University of Maine men's basketball team (8-12, 3-4) hosts rival New Hampshire (5-14, 1-6).

The Black Bears are coming off a 79-69 loss at defending America East Regular Season Champion Stony Brook.

Maine was led by Zarko Valjarevic who scored a career-high 21 points on 7-12 shooting from three-point range while Justin Edwards pitched in with 19 points, 13 rebounds and five assists.

New Hampshire is coming off a 63-45 win at Binghamton.

Ferg Myrick led the Wildcats with 16 points and 10 rebounds.

The Black Bears defeated the Wildcats in both contests last season, taking the win 80-69 in Durham behind 22 points and 10 rebounds from Alasdair Fraser and 71-58 in Orono behind Fraser's 14 points and 10 rebounds and Justin Edwards' 13 points and three assists.

Maine's Edwards ranks 59th in the nation in scoring and 55th in steals while Alasdair Fraser is 55th in rebounding and 87th in field goal percentage.

Maine's Mike Allison currently has 109 blocks which put him fifth in program history, and also has 442 rebounds; should he grab 500 rebounds he would be just the second player in program history to notch 500 rebounds and 100 blocks (Jeff Cross, 1981-84).

Maine is 3-1 in games this season where Fraser has a double-double and 4-1 in games where Edwards scores at least 20 points.
