Zarko Valjarevic Named America East Player of the Week

ORONO, Maine – University of Maine men's basketball standout Zarko Valjarevic has been named the America East Player of the Week.

Valjarevic, a sophomore guard from Belgrade, Serbia, averaged 21.0 points while shooting 49 percent from the floor in leading Maine to a pair of wins last week.

He scored 17 points in Maine's 66-64 win over Hartford before scoring a career-high 25 points at Binghamton to lead the Black Bears to a 64-60 win.

Valjarevic is averaging 18.3 points per game in Maine's last three games, which have all been wins.
