Men's Basketball Travels to Vermont for ESPN3 Game

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball team travels to take on defending America East champion Vermont on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

The University of Maine men's basketball team (11-15, 6-7) travels to take on the defending America East Champions Vermont Catamounts (16-9, 9-4).

The Black Bears are coming off a 64-60 win at Binghamton.

Maine was led by America East Player of the Week Zarko Valjarevic who had a career-high 25 points while Alasdair Fraser notched his fifth double-double of the season with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Vermont is coming off a 65-48 loss at Stony Brook.

Sandro Carissimo led the Catamounts with 14 points and four assists while Luke Apfeld added 12 points and five rebounds.

Maine defeated Vermont earlier this season in Orono by the score of 71-68.

Fraser led Maine with 20 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists while Justin Edwards added 22 points, four rebounds and four assists.

Maine's Mike Allison currently has 126 blocks which put him fifth in program history, and also has 490 rebounds; should he grab 500 rebounds he would be just the second player in program history to notch 500 rebounds and 100 blocks (Jeff Cross, 1981-84).

Zarko Valjarevic is looking for his seventh double-digit scoring effort in the last nine games and his fourth 20-point effort in eight games.
3Maine has won the last three games that Edwards has led the team in scoring
