ALBANY, N.Y. – University of Maine men's basketball standouts Justin Edwards, Alasdair Fraser and Mike Allison have been named to the 2013 America East All-Conference teams. Edwards and Fraser were named to the Second Team while Allison was named to the All-Defensive Team.
Edwards, a sophomore guard from Whitby, Ontario, was the first Black Bear in 23 years to lead the conference in scoring with 16.7 points per game while also leading the league in steals with 1.9 per contest. The three-time America East Player of the Week also ranked seventh in assists with 3.7 per game and was 17th with 5.1 rebounds per game. Edwards was an All-Rookie selection last season.
Fraser, a junior forward from Falkirk, Scotland, ranked seventh in the conference with 13.7 points per game and was fourth in rebounding with 8.2 per contest. His 49.1 percent from the field ranked fifth and his 1.5 blocks per game were third. Fraser was named to the Third Team last season.
Allison, a senior forward-center from Lynden, Ontario, led the league in blocks for the second-consecutive season with 1.6 per game while ranking fifth in rebounding with 7.4 per game and added 6.7 points per game. It is Allison's second-straight All-Defensive Team honor.
