Orono, Maine – The University of Maine men's basketball program has announced its 2013-14 schedule.

"We are excited to get started on our basketball season, both in the non-league and league portions of our schedule," head coach Ted Woodward said. "Our team has been working hard preparing all summer, and now in the fall, and we are anxious to continue towards the start of official practice later this month."

The Black Bears kick off its regular season on Nov. 8, traveling to Kingston, R.I. for a contest against the Rams. Maine has defeated their Atlantic 10 foe the past two meetings both in 2004 and 2011.

The Black Bears will then ready themselves for a three-game homestand that includes NJIT (Nov. 19), Quinnipiac (Nov. 25) and Dartmouth (Dec. 1).

Maine kicks off the month of December facing American Athletic Conference and perennial basketball power, UConn on Dec. 6, followed by Big East foe, Providence on Dec. 21.

Maine concludes the non-conference part of its schedule with a post-Christmas tournament on Dec. 29-30, competing in the Dr. Pepper Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn., taking on Conference USA foe, Middle Tennessee State in the opener.

The Black Bears open America East play on Jan. 5, as the Binghamton Bearcats come to town.

A three-game homestand, featuring Vermont (Jan. 16), Albany (Jan. 18) and UMass-Lowell (Jan. 23) precedes the Black Bears second conference roadtrip. Away contests against Stony Brook (Jan. 26) and New Hampshire (Jan. 29) finish up the month of January.

February starts with a game against UMBC at home (Feb. 1) followed by another two-game roadtrip to Vermont (Feb. 4) and Binghamton (Feb. 8).

In the middle of February the Black Bears stagger road and home contests beginning with a home game against Hartford on Feb. 12. Maine then takes to the road for a Feb. 15 game against Albany. Stony Brook visits on Feb. 23 with the Black Bears traveling once again on Feb. 27 to take on UMass-Lowell.
