Maine Men's Basketball Announces Open Practice
ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's basketball team is only three days away from officially opening the 2013-14 practice schedule. The Black Bears first official practice is set for Friday, Sept. 27. The team also announced today that there will be a practice that is open to the public on Sept. 28, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., slated to take place at the New Balance Student Recreation Center, on the Maine campus. Fans are welcomed and encouraged to get their first glimpse of this year's squad.
"We are really looking forward to the start of official practice," Maine men's basketball head coach Ted Woodward said. "The pre-season is a bit longer this year, but it will be tremendously beneficial to our team, our chemistry, and our individual improvement. This has been a very exciting group to work with every day, and we can't wait to start out with our full practice sessions this weekend."
The Black Bears return eight players along with six newcomers to the fold this coming season.
