Football Faces Third Top-15 Team in a Row at No. 2 Delaware

NEWARK, Del.--The University of Maine football team faces another tough CAA opponent when the Black Bears travel to take on No. 2 Delaware on Saturday at 1 p.m. Rich Kimball and Bob Lucy will cover all the action on the Black Bear Sports Radio Network.

Game Storylines

The University of Maine football team (2-3, 1-1 CAA) travels to take on No. 2 Delaware (5-0, 2-0) in Maine's first CAA road contest of the season.

Maine is coming off a thrilling 16-13 overtime victory over New Hampshire to capture the Brice-Cowell Musket.

K Brian Harvey made a 37-yard field goal in overtime to win the game after DB Jerron McMillian intercepted a pass on New Hampshire's possession.

Harvey was named the CAA Special Teams Co-Player of the Week for his effort.

LB Vinson Givans notched 12 tackles, including 2.0 for loss to go with an interception.

Delaware is coming off a 13-10 win over No. 3 James Madison.

The Blue Hens were led by Anthony Bratton who had 11 tackles, including 1.5 tackles-for-loss, and Darryl Jnnes who had 10 tackles and an interception.

Maine's RB Jared Turcotte is just 14 yards shy of 1,000 yards rushing for his career.

The game will mark the 30th meeting between the two teams.

The game matches two out of the top-3 rushers in the league, with Delaware's Andrew Pierce leading the CAA with 130 yards per game and Maine's Turcotte at 90 yards per game.

Maine is looking to avenge a 27-17 loss to Delaware last season.

3 QB Warren Smith led Maine's attack with 258 yards through the air last season while Delaware QB Pat Devlin notched 329 yards passing

The game featrures two of the stingiest defenses in the country, with Delaware giving up a FCS-best 6.4 points per game while Maine is 22nd with 20.2 points given up per game.

Maine's Coach Cosgrove is five wins shy of 100 for his career.
