Smith, Perillo and McMillian Earn Awards
ORONO, Maine—University of Maine football standouts Warren Smith and Justin Perillo have each been honored with national awards while defensive standout Jerron McMillian earned an honorable mention.
Smith, a senior quarterback from Forked River, N.J., was named the College Sports Madness FCS National and CAA Player of the Week. He completed 28-of-40 passes for 295 yards and two touchdowns in the Black Bears' 25-24 overtime win over No. 6 James Madison.
Perillo, a sophomore tight end from Wilmington, Del., has been named the College Football Performance Awards' National Tight End of the Week. He caught nine passes for 101 yards, including a touchdown in overtime against the Dukes.
McMillian, a senior defensive back from Hillside, N.J., notched seven tackles, including 3.0 tackles-for-loss against James Madison to earn a CFPA National Defensive Back Honorable Mention.
