Football Travels to Take on Bryant on Saturday
ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine football team travels to take on Bryant in its second non-conference game of the year on Saturday. Fans can hear all the action on the Black Bear Sports Network.
Storylines
The University of Maine football team (0-1) plays its second-consecutive road game on the year at Bryant (0-2).
Maine is coming off a 34-3 loss at Atlantic Coast Conference member Boston College.
Maine's DL Michael Cole had a pair of sacks in the contest and a forced fumble in the contest while K Brian Harvey made a 19-yard field goal.
Maine WRs Maurice McDonald and Derrick Johnson each came back from injuries last season to notch 37 receiving yards, with McDonald making six catches and Johnson five catches.
LB Donte Dennis, in his first game back after missing all of last season due to injury, made 13 tackles while also breaking up a pass.
Maine and Bryant are meeting for the second-consecutive season with the Black Bears earning the 28-13 win in Orono last season.
In last season's contest, McDonald had six catches for 52 yards while Johnson made three catches for 21 yards; LB Arron Achey made 10 tackles including 2.0 tackles-for-loss and broke up a pair of passes with Cole notching 1.5 TFLs.
Bryant is coming off a 39-28 loss at Saint Francis.
The Bulldogs were led by RB Jordan Brown who rushed for 125 yards and a score while Max Machado had a game-high 14 tackles.
Maine is looking for its fourth-straight win over a non-conference FCS regular season opponent.
