Michael Cole Named The Sports Network National Co-Defensive Player of the Week
ORONO, Maine – University of Maine football standout Michael Cole has been named The Sports Network National Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
Cole, a junior defensive end from North Brunswick, N.J., notched five sacks for a loss of 41 yards, nine total tackles and one forced fumble as the Black Bears beat the 15th-ranked Blue Hens, 26-3. The Maine defense let up just 47 yards to the potent Delaware rushing attack, and just 224 total yards.
Cole currently leads the nation with seven sacks on the year and ranks among the top-30 in tackles-for-loss.
Maine travels to take on Towson on Saturday at 7 p.m.
