Rickey Stevens and Nigel Jones Garner CAA Weekly Awards
ORONO, Maine – University of Maine football standouts Rickey Stevens (Rochester, N.Y.) and Nigel Jones (Pleasantville, N.J.) have been named the CAA Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.
Stevens, a running back, rushed for 179 yards on 21 carries and notched his first collegiate touchdown against Georgia State on Saturday.
Jones, also a running back, rushed 13 times for 76 yards and a touchdown and also caught a 76-yard pass for a score as the Black Bears defeated Georgia State 51-7 on Maine's Senior Day.
The Black Bears play their season finale on Saturday at Rhode Island.
