Football Travels to Rhode Island for Season Finale

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine football team travels to take on Rhode Island in the Black Bears' season finale. Fans can catch all the action on the Black Bear Sports Network. 

Storylines 

The University of Maine football team (4-6, 3-4) travels to play Rhode Island (0-10, 0-7) in its season finale.

Maine is coming off 51-7 win over Georgia State.

Maine RB Rickey Stevens  rushed for 179 yards and a score en route to CAA Offensive Player of the Week honors while fellow RB Nigel Jones rushed 76 yards for a score and had a run and catch for 76 yards and a score as he was honored with CAA Rookie of the Week accolades.

Maine DB Jamal Clay notched a pair of interceptions and had a game-high 10 tackles in the contest.

Rhode Island is coming off a 41-10 loss at #17 Towson.

Rhode Island QB Bob Bentsen threw for 153 yards and a score.

Last season in Orono, Maine took a 21-0 lead and held on for the 27-21 win. 

WR Maurice McDonald made nine catches for 139 yards and a score while LB Troy Russell had five tackles including a tackle-for-loss. 

Maine's LB Donte Dennis, who has 86 tackles this season, could become the first Black Bear in history to notch 100 tackles in three seasons and be the first Black Bear since Stephen Cooper in 2000-02 to lead the team in tackles in three seasons.  

Maine's12 seniors who are playing in their final game, have had a great impact on the program, contributing to a pair of NCAA Playoff appearances (2008 and 2011), and a #8 final ranking last season.
