Nigel Jones Named CAA Rookie and Sports Network National Freshman of the Week
ORONO, Maine – University of Maine football freshman standout Nigel Jones has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week and The Sports Network National Freshman of the Week.
Jones, a running back from Pleasantville, N.J., rushed for 182 yards on 15 carries (12.1 yards per carry), including touchdown runs of 82 and 18 yards in the Black Bears' 55-6 win over Rhode Island in their season finale.
Jones rushed for 358 yards on 49 carries this season. His average of 7.3 yards per carry was a CAA regular season best.
