Goncalves, Perillo Honored by CFPA
ORONO, Maine -- Cabrinni Goncalves (Taunton, Mass.) and Justin Perillo (Wilmington, Del.) have each been honored at their positions with national awards by the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA). Goncalves was named the FCS National Linebacker of the Week while Perillo was honored as the FCS National Tight End of the Week.
Goncalves led the way for the Black Bear defense as he totaled 11 tackles (nine solo and two assists) with a sack and 4.5 tackles for loss (-15 yards) while adding a forced fumble. Goncalves also received defensive player of the week honors from Beyond Sports Network.
Perillo paced the receiving crew as he totaled eight catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. The senior tight end eclipsed a pair of milestones at #18/16 Northwestern as he surpassed 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards for his career.
