ORONO, Maine -- Four members of the University of Maine football team have been named to the All-America teams selected by Beyond Sports Network, a web site that covers college football.
Senior tight end Justin Perillo (Wilmington, Del.) was named to BSN's All-America second team.
Senior quarterback Marcus Wasilewski (Kulpmont, Pa.) was a BSN All-America honorable mention selection.
Perillo, an All-CAA first team selection, hauled in 39 catches for 490 yards to go along with four touchdowns this season for the Black Bears.
Gakos, an All-CAA first team member, started all 13 games for the Black Bears at left guard. Gakos helped Maine produce a trio of 500+ yard rushers.
James, also an All-CAA first team selection, totaled 36 tackles with two interceptions and nine pass breakups. James blocked a field goal attempt at New Hampshire and also tallied 2.5 tackles for loss.
Wasilewski, first team All-CAA, led Maine's offense as the senior quarterback went 276-for-409 with 3,238 passing yards and 25 touchdowns. Wasilewski also rushed 156 times for 532 yards and three scores. Wasilewski set single season Maine records for passing yards (3,238), completions (276) and completion percentage (67.5) while moving into sixth place all-time with 5,613 total passing yards.
