ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine kickoff returner Damarr Aultman (Wheatley Heights, N.Y.) has been named to the 2014 College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) FCS Kickoff Returner Award Watch List, as announced on Tuesday, July 22.
"Congratulations to Damarr Aultman on earning a spot on this year's watch list," said CFPA Executive Director Brad Smith. "Aultman enters the 2014 season as one of the most dynamic players in the FCS."
In 2013, Aultman returned 25 kickoffs for 625 yards and a touchdown. The senior returner ranked third in the CAA in kickoff return yards per game and averaged 25.0 yards per return. Aultman's return touchdown came in a season-long 88 yard kickoff return for a score in Maine's NCAA playoff game against New Hampshire. Aultman finished that playoff game with 143 return yards.
The goal of College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous conferment in college football. Recipients are selected exclusively based upon objective scientific rankings of the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. Twenty-eight CFPA winners have been first-round NFL Draft selections.
CFPA is now entering its seventh season of recognition. The CFPA's player and team performance index ranks success in all three phases of the game -- offense, defense, and special teams.
The full list of 2014 CFPA winners will be announced January 14, 2015.
