Trailing by four with 2:39 left in the game, Dan Collins (Williamstown, N.J.) and the Maine offense went to work. The Black Bears cashed in on three fourth down conversions on their final drive, including a 37-yard touchdown to Jordan Dunn (Hamilton, N.J.) with 52-seconds remaining. The score would prove to be the game-winner as Maine (2-2, 1-0 CAA) held on to defeat Towson (2-3, 0-1 CAA), 27-24 on Saturday evening at Johnny Unitas Stadium.

University of Maine football student-athletes Arron Achey (Newmanstown, Pa.), Michael Mangiarelli (Warren, Ohio) and Marcus Wasilewski (Kulpmont, Pa.) have been named to the 2014 National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame (NFF) Hampshire Honor Society. The Hampshire Honor Society is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who each maintained a cumulative 3.2 GPA or better throughout their college career.

Mulumba Tshimanga Named ECAC Defensive Rookie of the Year; Gakos, James Honored
University of Maine freshman linebacker Christophe Mulumba Tshimanga (Montreal, Que.) has been named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Rookie of the Year, as announced on March 27 in the Lexus Club at MetLife Stadium at the annual Eastern College Football Awards Banquet. Two other Black Bears received honors as Jeff Gakos (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Kendall James (Roselle, N.J.) were each honored to the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) ECAC All-Star Team.

Maine Honors Over Half of Student-Athletes for Academic Achievement
ORONO, Maine--The University of Maine announced on Friday that 261 student-athletes will be honored and recognized for their success in the classroom at the Scholar-Athlete Recognition ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014. One-hundred ninety five student-athletes will be recognized as Scholar-Athletes for achieving a 3.0 or better grade point average for the 2013 year and/or having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Sixty-six first-year student-athletes will also be honored as *Rising Stars* for earning a 3.0 GPA or better in their first semester at Maine. The Scholar-Athletes and *Rising Stars* total 261.

The #25 University of Maine football team (3-1, 0-0 CAA) held tough against the Football Bowl Subdivision's (FBS) #18/16 Northwestern Wildcats (4-0, 0-0 Big Ten) but fell in the end by a score of 35-21 on Saturday afternoon at Ryan Field. The Black Bears outgained Northwestern 379-373 and were led on offense by senior tight end Justin Perillo (Wilmington, Del.) who hauled in eight catches for 81 yards and a score.

Maine Honors Scholar-Athletes for Academic Achievement
The University of Maine announced on Thursday that 250 student-athletes will be honored and recognized for their success in the classroom at the Scholar-Athlete Recognition ceremony on Monday, March 25, 2013. One-hundred sixty five student-athletes will be recognized as Scholar-Athletes for achieving a 3.0 or better grade point average for the 2012 year and/or having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Eighty-five first-year student-athletes will also be honored as *Rising Stars* for earning a 3.0 or better in their first semester at Maine. The Scholar-Athletes and *Rising Stars* total 250, over half of the student-athletes at the University of Maine.

Maine Honors Scholar-Athletes for Academic Achievement
he University of Maine announced on Wednesday that 239 student-athletes will be honored and recognized for their success in the classroom at the Scholar-Athlete Recognition ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. One-hundred seventy four student-athletes will be recognized as Scholar-Athletes for achieving a 3.0 or better grade point average for the 2010 year and/or having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Sixty-five first-year student-athletes will also be honored as *Rising Stars* for earning a 3.0 or better in their first semester at Maine. Football Hosts Albany in Season Opener on Thursday
The University of Maine football team hosts the Albany Great Danes in the season opener for both teams on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Alfond Stadium. Season tickets are still available, and can be purchased before the game for just $40!
