Maine Hockey Season Ticket Renewals in the Mail
ORONO, Maine -- The much-anticipated start of the 2010-2011 University of Maine hockey season got one step closer as hockey season ticket renewals went in the mail June 1st. Black Bear hockey ticket holders will learn this week that the theme for the new season is "The Future is Now for Maine Hockey."
Fans have responded with increased interest as judged by the more than 100 new season tickets that have already been sold for next season!
The Black Bears are coming off a very exciting postseason where they defeated UMass Lowell in the Hockey East Quarterfinals at Alfond Arena, then eliminated defending national champion Boston University at the TD Garden, before falling to eventual national champion Boston College in the Hockey East Championship in overtime. The Maine program gained further recognition when sophomore Gustav Nyquist, who led the nation is scoring, was one of three finalists for the Hobey Baker Award, presented to the nation's top college hockey player. Nyquist is the lone Hat Trick Finalist (top 3) with plans to return to school in the fall. Nyquist played on the first unit of the nation's top power play as Maine led the country in power-play percentage. Eleven of Maine's top 12 scorers are slated to return in the fall.
The 2010-2011 Black Bear home schedule features the challenging Hockey East opponents as well as North Dakota.
The season starts on Oct. 3 vs. Acadia at Alfond Arena.
Season tickets for next year are $324, a discount of $42 from the single-game price. A season ticket remains the best way for fans to assure themselves of a seat at every Maine Hockey game.
