Paul Culina to Work 500th Career Game Tonight at UMass Lowell

LOWELL, Mass. --- University of Maine men's ice hockey athletic trainer Paul Culina will work his 500th career game tonight when Maine faces UMass Lowell at Tsongas Arena in Lowell, Mass.

The Professional Hockey Athletic Trainers Society and the Society of Professional Hockey Equipment Managers are committed to encouraging and recognizing excellence in the field of Athletic Trainers and Equipment Managers. In 1998 the two groups launched a program to recognize long-term commitment and service to its members.

Culina, in his 19th season at the University of Maine, is one of very few athletic trainers to reach this milestone. In addition, Culina will be honored at the 2014 PHATS/SPHEM Annual Meeing in Orlando, Fla.

The University of Maine is grateful for the years of service and the dedication that Culina has shown to the men's ice hockey team and its student-athletes during that time.
