Brice O'Connor Named Recipient of the Derek Hines Unsung Hero Award

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.  -- University of Maine men's ice hockey senior captain Brice O'Connor (Londonderry, N.H.) was named the recipient of the 2014 Derek Hines Unsung Hero Award, named Friday at the Frozen Four in Philadelphia. 

 

The award recognizes a fearless leader and beloved fan favorite who always places his team first. Displaying exemplary sportsmanship, he's supremely competitive, intelligent and extraordinarily conditioned with an unmatched work ethic. The contributions of this individual, on and of the ice, cannot be measured by statistics alone. 

 

O'Connor played in 104 career games for the Black Bears, scoring five goals and dishing out 20 assists for 25 career points. As a senior, he saw aciton in 34 games with two goals and seven assists for nine points.
