Trevor England Leads Men's Track at Bates

LEWISTON, Maine -- Trevor England won the long and triple jumps to lead Maine to the win at Bates over the weekend.

England won the long jump with a leap of 22-02.50 and the triple jump with a distance of 46-04.00.

Wilson Adams took second in the weight throw with a IC4A-qualfiying distance of 56-02.00 while Frank Del Duca won the 60 meters in a time of 7.08 and Daniel Roukey won the 200 in a time of 23.12.

Joseph Viola won the 400 meters with a time of 52.14, Alex Moser won the mile in a time of 4:23.80 and Spencer McElwain won the 5,000 meters in a time of 15:29.29.

Maine won the meet with 275 points.

On the women's side, Jesse Labreck won three individual events, as well as winning the pentathlon in ECAC-qualifying form to lead the women's track and field team at Bates over the weekend.

Labreck took top honors in the long jump with a leap of 18-07.75, the triple jump with a mark of 36-03.00 and the high jump with leap of 5-04.50.      

In the pentathlon, she won every event except for the shot put, where she took third.  Her 3,729 points easily qualified her for the ECAC Championships.

Vasiliki Papakotsi won the pole vault in an ECAC-qualifying mark of 12-03.50 while Allison Fereshetian also had a qualifying mark, winning the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.80.

Jillian O'Brien won two events, taking the 60 meters in 7.71 and the 200 in 26.53.

The Black Bears won the meet with 241.50 points.
