PORTLAND, Maine – James Reed set a new facility record at the Southern Maine Field House on Saturday afternoon as the Black Bear men's track and field team competed at the USM Invitational. Reed was one of one of six track and field athletes to compete in the one day event.
Reed's 55-meter hurdle time highlighted the event as he finished with a time of 7.48 seconds in the prelims to best a mark set in 2005 by Colin Aina. Reed took first in the finals with a time of 7.48 seconds.
Tyler Martin took second place in the high jump with a final height of 1.99 meters while teammate Joseph Slattery finished the event with a final mark of 1.78m.
Maine also controlled the throw events as both Brian Woodbury and Wilson Adams took first in their respective events. Woodbury tossed a final throw of 15.81m in the shot put to take first overall while Adams finished the weight throw with a final mark of 18.18-meters. Woodbury also came in third in the weight throw with a mark of 13.66.
