Gagne Kicks Off NCAA East Outdoor Preliminary Round For Maine Track and Field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior Justin Gagne of Maine track and field, extended his 2014 outdoor track and field season on Thrusday evening as the thrower kicked off the NCAA East Outdoor Preliminary Round, hosted by The University of North Florida. Gagne, who will compete in two events during the three-day event began his campaign with the shot put on the first day of competition. 

The Biddeford, Maine native took 24th overall of 48 entrants in the event as he tallied a final throw of 17.81m (58-5.25). Florida's Stipe Zunic took top honors in the event (20.60m (67-7).

Gagne will complete the event on Saturday when he participates in his final event, the discus beginning at noon. Teammate Nathaniel Meade is the other Maine entrant as he competes in the triple jump on Friday, starting at 5 p.m. Check back to GoBlackBears.com for updates.
