JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The 2013-14 campaign for Maine track and field came to an end on Saturday afternoon as its final competitor, Justin Gagne, participated in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville, Fla., hosted by University of Northern Florida. Gagne took part in his second event of the regional meet, competing in the discus, taking 43rd overall.
The Biddeford, Maine native tallied a final throw of 49.62m (162-9) while LSU's Rodney Brown took first in the event with an event-winning mark of 63.34m (207-10).
Gagne wraps up a historic senior season that saw tremendous success for the thrower as he won America East titles in the indoor shot put, outdoor shot put and outdoor discus as well as being named America East Most Outstanding Field Athlete at the outdoor championships.
Maine now looks forward to a 2014-15 season that will be highlighted early on in the season as the school hosts the 2014 America East Cross Country Championships. Check back to GoBlackBears.com for more u
