Men's and Women's Cross Country Named All-Academic Teams
The University of Maine men’s and women’s cross country teams have earned All-Academic status by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association.

Maine Honors Scholar-Athletes for Academic Achievement
he University of Maine announced on Wednesday that 239 student-athletes will be honored and recognized for their success in the classroom at the Scholar-Athlete Recognition ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011. One-hundred seventy four student-athletes will be recognized as Scholar-Athletes for achieving a 3.0 or better grade point average for the 2010 year and/or having a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Sixty-five first-year student-athletes will also be honored as *Rising Stars* for earning a 3.0 or better in their first semester at Maine. The Scholar-Athletes and *Rising Stars* total 239, over half of the student-athletes at the University of Maine.

Maine Places Highest Percentage of Student-Athletes on America East Fall Academic Honor Roll
A record 634 student-athletes have been named to the 2010 Fall America East Academic Honor Roll. It is the highest number of student-athletes on the fall honor roll since its induction during the 1988-89 year. Student-athletes had to earn grade point averages of 3.0 or higher last semester to receive this recognition. Of those student-athletes, 331 earned Commissioner’s Honor Roll status for completing the fall semester with grade point averages of 3.50 or higher.

Corey Conner Takes Fourth at NCAA Eastern Regionals
The University of Maine women’s cross country team, led by a fourth place finish from Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.), placed 16th out of 35 teams while the men’s team, led by David Currier (Sidney, Maine), placed 21st out of 35 teams at the NCAA Eastern Regional hosted by Yale at Hammonassett State Park.

Riley Masters Wins America East Cross Country Championship
University of Maine men’s cross country standout Riley Masters (Bangor, Maine) won the America East Cross Country Championship on Saturday afternoon in Boston, Mass. His effort led the men’s team to a fourth place finish while Corey Conner’s (Townsend, Mass.) third place finish on the women’s side led the lady Black Bears to a third place finish.

The University of Maine men’s and women’s cross country teams swept Holy Cross on Saturday morning on the campus of the University of Maine. Riley Masters (Bangor, Maine) led the way for the men while Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.) led the women.

Cross Country Sweeps New Hampshire
The University of Maine men’s and women’s cross country teams swept New Hampshire on Friday afternoon on the campus of the University of Maine. David Currier (Sidney, Maine) won the men’s 8K race while Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.) won the women’s 5K race.

Conner and Kaake Lead Cross Country Teams at UMass
Corey Conner (Townsend, Mass.) won the UMass Quad Meet on Saturday in Amherst, Mass. while Jason Kaake (Phippsburg, Maine) led the men's team with a runner-up finish. The women won the meet with 41 points while the men placed third with 70.
