Riley Masters Wins Second-Consecutive America East Title
ALBANY, N.Y. -- University of Maine men's cross country standout Riley Masters (Bangor, Maine) claimed his second-consecutive America East title on Saturday in Albany, N.Y. The Black Bear men finished third in a tight race for the Championship. Jennifer Lucy (Bangor, Maine) placed 26th to pace the women.
Masters won the title with a time of 24:18.66, beating the runner-up by seven seconds. David Currier (Sidney, Maine) ran a solid race and finished 10th with a time of 24:56.10.
Alexander Moser and Spencer McElwain placed 18th and 19th with times of 25:11.44 and 25:12.13
The men scored 69 points while Boston University and Albany tied for first with 60 points.
Lucy finished the women's course in a time of 18:16.39 to take 26th. She was followed by Carolyn Stocker in 45th with a time of 18:55.00 and Kourtney Bonsey (Falmouth, Maine) in 54th with a time of 19:19.15.
The women placed seventh overall while Stony Brook won the title.
