Cullenberg Places First in Opening Race of Season
Amherst, MA – The University of Maine men's cross country team lost a close race to UMass Amherst today by a score of 29-30. Kelton Cullenberg (Chesterville, Maine) took first place for the Black Bears with a time if 18:20.54.
Maine had three top five finishers, Taylor Phillips (Brookfield, Connecticut) in second place with a time of 18:27.69 and Ryan Hardiman (Brookline, Massachusetts) in fourth place with a time 18:36.79.
The Black Bears had a total of 10 runners for an overall time of 1:34:50.43 and an average time of 18:58.09.
Maine will travel to New Hampshire on September 14th for a 2:00 pm meet against the University of New Hampshire.
