Maine Duo Sweeps Weekly Honors

Cambridge, Mass. -- The University of Maine swept cross country weekly honors for the second time this season. Junior men's cross country runner Kelton Cullenberg (Chesterville, Maine) and senior women's cross country runner Corey Conner (West Townsend, Massachusetts) were tabbed America East Performers of the Week.

Cullenberg finished the 8k course in 25:21.6 to earn his second victory on the season and his third staright top five finish. Maine occupied the top three spots, as Ryan Hardiman (Brookline, Massachusetts) and Taylor Phillips (Brookfield, Connecticut) finished second and third. Cullenberg led his squad to victory for the first time this season while capturing his second weekly honors.

Conner continued her impressive streak of victories, posting a time of 15:52.1, which was a minute and a half faster than the runner-up. With an amazing one minute and 30 second average margin of victory through three races, Conner has been named the Performer of the Week for the third straight week. Conner led Black Bear teammate, Annabelle Wilson (Geelong, Austrailia), to a second place finish.

The Black Bears return to competition on October 7 as they travel to Westfield, Mass. for the New England Championships. The meet is scheduled to begin at 12:00 PM.
