Cullenberg Secures Second America East Performer of the Week Award
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – For the second time this season Kelton Cullenberg has been named the class of the conference earning another America East Cross Country Performer of the Week award. Cullenberg earns this one after helping his squad to finish sixth in a field of 35 programs at the NEICCAAA championships in Boston, Mass.
The senior from Chesterville, Maine chose an opportune time to post his season-best time in the 8k, with the team on display along with the best that New England has to offer. Cullenberg came in fourth of a field of over 275 entrants clocking in with a 24:27 mark.
This is the third time in his career that Cullenberg has received a Performer of the week award, as he has been the consistent top-finisher for Maine this season.
The Black Bears men's cross country team is riding good momentum as they now prepare for the America East championships which will take place on Nov. 2 in Binghamton, N.Y. In meet this past weekend the Black Bears were the highest placing America East squad as they bested UMass-Lowell which came in 13th, New Hampshire which came in 15th, Vermont which finished 22nd and Hartford that completed the race 32nd.
