Cullenberg, Moser Lead Men's Cross Country at the America East Championships
VESTAL, N.Y. --- Kelton Cullenberg (Chesterville, Maine) was the runner-up while Alexander Moser (York Harbor, Maine) placed fourth to lead the University of Maine men's cross country team to a fifth place finish at the 2013 America East Championships on Saturday, Nov. 2.
UMBC won the 2013 America East men's cross country championship with 58 points, followed by Binghamton (65), Stony Brook (70), New Hampshire (72), Maine (110), Albany (162), Vermont (200), UMass Lowell (224) and Hartford (253).
Cullenberg completed the 8k run in a time of 24:57.60. Moser was fourth with a time of 25:11.92. Jesse Orach (Gorham, Maine) placed 31st with a time of 26:04.07. He was followed closely by teammated Ryan Hardiman (Brookline, Mass.) who was 34th in 26:07.69. Jerrod Lenfest (Windsor, Maine) rounded out the scoring for the Black Bears as he scored 39th with a time of 26:23.72.
Also competing in the championships for the Black Bears but not scoring were Levi Frye (Walpole, N.H.) in 26:45.05, Lucas Bourget (Auburn, Maine) in 27:04.09, Thomas Salamone (South Portland, Maine) in 27:19.29, Jacob Johns (North Andover, Mass.) in 28:13.28 and Derreck Schultz (Jericho, Vt.) 28:16.93.
Maine returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 15 when it travels to the NCAA Qualifier meet in New York, N.Y.
