Shoot, Slam and Shuffle Set for Friday, Oct. 12

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine basketball teams will be unveiled at "Shoot, Slam, and Shuffle" Friday night, October 12 at the New Balance Recreation Center on the UMaine campus. All fans and students are invited to take part in this exciting event!

The evening begins at 8 p.m. with Knockout for a Cause, a Spruce Run Fundraiser run by Theta Chi fraternity. Participants play the basketball game knockout with winners advancing to a championship round. To play, participants may register for the event in advance or at the door.

The Maine basketball teams will be introduced at 9 p.m. A dunk and shooting contest will take place after a brief warmup. The event ends with a danceoff between the teams. Students may enter an "open" dunk contest prior to 9 p.m. with the winner advancing to the team dunk contest. Also, the winners of the knockout contest will compete with the basketball team in their shooting contest.

Drinks and pizza will be available for all students in attendance!
