Liz Wood Named America East Rookie of the Week

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine freshman women's basketball standout Liz Wood (Catlett, Va.) has been named America East Rookie of the Week for the third time this season as announced by the conference on Monday.

Wood had a stellar week on the court for Maine as she averaged 17 points, 9.5 rebounds and 4.0 assists while shooting 52.2% and 88.9% from the free throw line in a pair of games. Wood kicked off the week with a double-double, scoring a career-high 14 points while grabbing 10 rebounds to go with a pair of steals and two assists against Boston University. Wood followed that performance up by setting a new career-high with 20 points on 6-for-9 shooting from the field and 6-for-7 from the foul line against Binghamton. The freshman guard also brought down nine rebounds and dished out six assists against the Bearcats.

Maine returns to action on Wednesday at Vermont beginning at 7 PM.
