Women's Basketball Play4Kay Feb. 9 - Highest Donation Receives Honorary Coaching Spot
ORONO, Maine -- As the Black Bear community works to once again reach the $10,000 Play4Kay donation goal, an additional incentive has been added to this season's campaign. The women's basketball team has announced that the highest donation to this year's cause will be named one of Maine's honorary coaches for its game on Feb. 9 against Albany.
The Black Bears have announced that the top donation received by Feb 6 at noon will be awarded a spot as honorary coach on the bench for Maine's game against Albany on Feb. 9 at 1 PM. Due to NCAA rules and regulations, all prospective student-athletes and relatives of student-athletes are not eligible for this contest.
Earlier, Coach Barron announced that if the goal of raising $10,000 for the Play4Kay Foundation is met by the conclusion of the Black Bears' Play4Kay game on Feb. 9 against Albany, he will again shave his head.
