Lauren Bodine Named America East Rookie of the Week

ORONO, Maine -- University of Maine women's basketball freshman Lauren Bodine (Louisville, Ky.) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. Bodine averaged 20 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals over her award winning week.

Bodine, who earned her first America East Rookie of the Week nod, tallied a conference-best 11 three-pointers over the week, shooting 50 percent from beyond the arc. The freshman opened the week by tying a school-record with seven three-pointers and recording career-highs in points (24) and rebounds (8) in Maine's win over Vermont. On Saturday at Stony Brook, Bodine poured in 16 points, including four more three-pointers, while grabbing five rebounds.

The Black Bears return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 27 when they travel to face Boston University at 7 PM.
