Women's Basketball Meets Boston University on Wednesday for Final Regular Season Road Game

ORONO, Maine -- Maine (4-23, 3-11 America East) visit Boston University (23-5, 13-2 AE) for the Terriers final game as a member of the America East conference on Wednesday evening at 7 PM.
Maine recently had its two-game winning streak snapped as it was looking for its fifth straight victory over Stony Brook but fell by a score of 56-53. Maine led the whole way until there was 6:41 left in the game. Lauren Bodine led Maine with 16 points and five rebounds while Liz Wood added 13 points and eight boards. Ashleigh Roberts narrowly missed a double-double as she netted 10 points with nine rebounds for the Black Bears who shot 36.0% from the field but were outrebounded 41-35.
The Black Bears enter the game averaging 54.9 points per game while giving up 68.3. Maine is shooting 36.8% from the field, 26.9% from three-point range and 67.2% from the free throw line. Maine averages 36.9 rebounds per game, 11.9 assists and 6.8 steals while forcing 15.0 turnovers.
With the Black Bears nipped by the injury bug, junior Ashleigh Roberts is Maine's current leader in scoring at 10.2 points per game and 4.6 rebounds. Roberts is shooting 71.3% from the free throw line, sixth best amongst league leaders. Freshman Liz Wood, who has scored in double figures in 10 of her last 11 games, is currently leading all America East freshmen in scoring at 10.2 points per game with team-highs in rebounding (6.7), assists (2.4) and steals (1.5). Wood is averaging a team-high 12.9 points in conference action, which ranks her fourth amongst league leaders, and 7.5 rebounds (third best in the league). Courtney Anderson is chipping in 7.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.3 assists. Lauren Bodine, the current America East Rookie of the Week, is coming off a week in which she averaged 20.0 points and 6.5 rebounds. Bodine is adding 3.9 points and 1.7 rebounds while shooting 33.8% from beyond the arc.
Boston University enters the game winners of seven of its last eight and only have two losses in America East play; both of which to league leader Albany. The Terriers rank second in the league in scoring at 62.5 points per game while giving up 51.6. Boston University is shooting 40.7% from the field, 35.5% from beyond the arc and 62.3% from the free throw line. Boston University leads the league in three-pointers made per game at 7.4. Chantell Alford leads the league in scoring at 16.6 points per game while pulling down 5.1 rebounds and swiping a team-leading 2.3 steals per game. Rashidat Agboola is averaging 11.8 points per game and leads the league in rebounding at 8.9 rebounds. Mo Moran gest the offensive started for the Terriers as she leads the league in assists per game (5.9) while averaging 10.4 points.
This contest marks the 73rd meeting between Boston University and Maine. There are only three teams all-time that Maine has played games against more than they have met up with the Terriers. Maine holds the all-time series advantage over Boston University 40-32. The two teams first met in 1977, a game won 66-54 by Boston University. Maine's last win against the Terriers came on Jan. 23, 2008 when Maine won 82-77 at Alfond Arena. Since that game, the Terriers have won 11-straight against Maine. Last time out against the Terriers, Maine dropped an 85-54 decision at home. The Black Bears were led in the game by Liz Wood who tallied a double-double on 14 points and 10 rebounds. Ashleigh Roberts chipped in 10 points for the Black Bears who shot 31.7% from the field and pulled down 41 rebounds.
