Women's Basketball Game on Saturday, March 2 will Now Begin at 2 PM in Memorial Gym
ORONO, Maine -- The women's basketball game between the University of Maine and the University of New Hampshire will start two hours later than originally scheduled tomorrow, Saturday, March 2. The game originally scheduled for 12 PM in Alfond Arena will now be played at 2 PM at Memorial Gym.
"To say that this has been a challenging week for our women's basketball team is an understatement," commented University of Maine Athletic Director Steve Abbott. "We are looking forward to the game tomorrow."
The start to the game was delayed because the UMaine staff needed additional time to evaluate players in the wake of this week's bus accident. Because of the delay in assessing the number of players medically cleared and able to compete, the start time of the game had to be pushed back.
"We wish to thank coach Maureen Magarity and Athletic Director Marty Scarano and all of the UNH athletic department for their understanding and support over this difficult week" added Abbott. "We look forward to competing with them tomorrow."
All Friends of Maine women's basketball events planned for tomorrow's game will now take place inside Palmer Lounge.
