College Sports Madness Names Liz Wood America East Freshman of the Year

ORONO, Maine -- The staff at College Sports Madness has named Liz Wood (Catlett, Va.) the America East Freshman of the Year, as announced by the website on Tuesday morning. Wood led all America East freshmen in scoring as she averaged 10.3 points and 6.6 rebounds.

Wood, who was also named America East Co-Rookie of the Year by the league's coaches, ranked fourth in league only scoring (12.9) and rebounding (7.3) while averaging 2.0 steals. Wood, a six-time America East Rookie of the Week, tallied five double-doubles on the year while also earning a selection to the America East All-Rookie squad. Overall, Wood ranked 14th in the league in scoring (10.3) and seventh in rebounding (6.6).
