"Katia has made strong improvement both on and off (academics) the court, and had a strong finish to last season. We are looking for her to be a bigger presence this year in both rebounding and defense. For this team to be successful, we need Katia to bring energy, aggressiveness and focus each day regardless if it's a practice or a game."
AS A SOPHOMORE (2007-08)
Appeared in 17 games ... averaged 1.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game ... turned in solid performances off the bench in the final three games of the season ... averaged 3.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in a reserve role over the final three contests ... set or tied her career-high in rebounds in each of the final three games ... made a pair of free throws at Clemson (11/9) for her first career collegiate points ... tossed in four points versus Dartmouth (11/15) ... tallied four points, two rebounds and a pair of blocks at William & Mary (11/29) ... notched four points and three rebounds at Binghamton (2/23) ... totaled a career-high six points and ripped down four boards at Hartford (3/1) ... had two points and four rebounds against New Hampshire (3/5) ... scored three points, collected a career-high five rebounds and swatted away two shots versus Stony Brook (3/13) in the opening round of the America East Tournament ... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.
