Holly Stewart Selected to WJNT Tour to Argentina
ORONO, Maine -- Field Hockey America East Co-Rookie of the Year Holly Stewart (North Vancouver, B.C.) is a member of the Canadian Women's Junior National U21 (WJNT). Stewart has made it through the first round of cuts as she has been named a member of the squad that will be traveling to Argentina.
The squad has been cut from 27 to 19, with five reserves. Stewart has been named to the main roster which will be traveling to Buenos Aires to compete in a series of matches on May 24-June 3 against Argentina and Chile. This specific test series is the start of the heavy, intense training phase for the WJNT as they prep for the Championships, which also serve as a qualifier for the 2013 Junior World Cup.
Stewart will continue her battle for a spot on the WJN team which will travel to take part in the World Cup which begins on Sept. 7, 2012.
There is a total of six camps and training periods Stewart will have to compete in until the World Cup games on Sept. 7-23 in Guadalajara, Mexico.
