Trio of Former Black Bears Named to Senior Canadian National Squad

ORONO, Maine -- Kelly Newton (Vancouver, British Columbia), Stephanie Gardiner (Vancouver, British Columbia) and Jocelyn Mitchell (Kanata, Ontario) have been named to the Senior Canadian National Field Hockey Squad while current Black Bear Holly Stewart (North Vancouver, British Columbia) has been named an alternate to the team.

The former Black Bear standouts will participate in a four-match test series against Team USA on May 19-23 at the University of Victoria. The Canadian Women's Squad will assemble and take part in a four day training period in Vancouver, running from May 15-18, before traveling to Victoria to battle Team USA. The three former Black Bears are three of just 23 named to the squad, along with the four reserves.
