Alicia Frisch Named America East Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University of Maine field hockey goalkeeper Alicia Frisch (Calgary, Alberta) has been named this week's America East Defensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday. Frisch made several key saves over the weekend while helping lead the Black Bears to a pair of victories.
Frisch made several point-blank saves to keep the Black Bears on top throughout the weekend. The senior goalkeeper finished the week 2-0-0 with a 1.29 goals against average and a .818 saves percentage after making nine stops on 11 shots.
Frisch picked up her first victory of the weekend on Friday when she made six stops against Rutgers before turning away three more shots in a win against Bryant on Sunday.
The Black Bear field hockey squad looks for their third win in a row when they travel to battle Holy Cross on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 1 p.m.
