Cassidy Svetek Named America East Rookie of the Week

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- University of Maine field hockey forward Cassidy Svetek (Burlington, Ontario) has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. Svetek helped lead the Black Bears to a pair of wins after she tallied four goals in two games over the weekend.

In Saturday's win over Holy Cross, Svetek tallied her first career hat-trick as she scored Maine's second, third and fourth goals of the day. Following her three-goal performance, the Black Bear freshman notched the game-winner in Maine's overtime win against Pacific on Sunday.

The Black Bears return home for their next contest as they will host Quinnipiac on Friday, Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. from the Maine Field Hockey Complex.
